Friday, April 30th | 12:00 p.m. | Barclay Beach or Via Zoom
The Arboretum has a longstanding tradition of planting trees on Arbor Day. First observed at Haverford on April 4, 1902, representatives of the Pennsylvania Forestry Association came out to the campus to celebrate the holiday. It became such a popular celebration that in the early 1900s a song was arranged by J. H. Redfield, Class of 1899, and published by Hums and Noble. Over the years, the Arboretum has planted hundreds of trees in honor of this special day. Join us this Friday as we continue the tradition while socially distanced! There is also an option to join us from afar and watch a live stream on Zoom of our planting. Any questions please contact jciborowsk@haverford.edu.
