____________

Heralded for its “impeccable musicality,” “exact, smooth, stylish” programming" (The Boston Globe) "an unfailing display of the “elegance, power, and grace of the human voice” (Boston Musical Intelligencer), Boston’s Lorelei Ensemble is quickly becoming recognized as a source of some of the most innovative and inventive programming in Boston and beyond. Lorelei is an all-professional vocal ensemble, comprising nine women whose expertise ranges from early to contemporary repertoire, and whose independent careers as soloists and ensemble singers across the globe lend to the rich and diverse vocal palate that defines the ensemble’s “warm, lithe, and beautifully blended” sound" (The New York Times). Lorelei’s concert programs challenge listeners to encounter the sonorities of early music alongside the vernacular of modern composers, poignantly juxtaposing contrasting and complimentary compositional styles to create an experience that is both contrasting yet complimentary. A recognized entrepreneur in the contemporary music and vocal ensemble communities, founding Artistic Director, Beth Willer initiates collaborations with bold composers, unpredictable guest artists, and courageous ensembles to create progressive and provocative programming for a diverse 21st-century audience.
