This is a two part workshop that will introduce participants to basic principles of recording and editing digital audio using Avid ProTools. Avid ProTools is an industry standard for music and film production, and this workshop will provide participants with a solid foundation for either usage. The first workshop on Thursday 4/22 will revolve around field audio recording, and will be led by staff members Charles Woodard and Alex Savoth. The second workshop on Thursday 4/29 will focus on post-production with ProTools and will be led by Professional Mixing Engineer and Adjunct Professor Eric Bogacz. Participants are required to attend both sessions and must be on campus in order to check out and utilize gear from the VCAM cage. For the second workshop, participants will have the option of editing in VCAM or on their own computers using a free trial of ProTools. Some familiarity with audio production is preferred but not necessary.
