Safia Elhillo is winner of the Sillerman First Book Award for African poets, Arab American Book Award, the Brunel International African Poetry Prize, and 2019 Stanford University Wallace Stegner Fellowship Recipient. Elhillo is the author of The January Children, Nima on the Other Side, and Girls That Never Die, and co-editor of Halal If You Hear Me
